Ruth is a physician executive who possesses a unique perspective formulated by leading transformative work. Ruth is a senior in clinical medicine, industry and non-profit social entrepreneurship. Ruth’s passion is working in tandem with communities to improve their health, wellbeing and vitality.
Prior to joining Big Heart Technologies, Ruth was the Chief Program Officer for the Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC). In this capacity she led PCDC’s Performance Improvement practice, which offered consulting, training, and coaching services designed to support a high-quality primary care system which promotes population health, clinical excellence, and patient-centeredness, through clinical improvements, care coordination and care management, and health information exchange technology.
Ruth also served as Executive Director at the Trenton Health Team, a non-profit health care collaborative. There she successfully led a population health program that engaged health care providers, payers, community members, and others to improve primary care delivery. Key programs included the Trenton Health Information Exchange, which provides real-time clinical data from collaborative partner organizations, a care management team that significantly decreased utilization of, and costs associated with, emergency room and hospital visits, and a Medicaid Accountable Care Organization.
Dr. Perry spent nearly seventeen years in a variety of leadership positions within Environmental, Health and Safety with the Rohm & Haas Company. She led many diverse initiatives across the company including implementing technology to meet regulatory requirements and advancing business goals, assessing the feasibility of developing a new technology platform in the health care space, and influencing and leveraging new regulations and trends to evaluate and develop new products.
Dr. Perry is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and holds degrees from Swarthmore College and Temple University School of Medicine, and completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Philadelphia. Dr. Perry is a classical music pianist and an avid supporter of the cultural arts, loves to travel and photograph her experiences. She is mother of two adult daughters, Kendall and Courtney Walton.
